Do you all remember what was going on this time last year?

About a year ago a poster on here recieved some horrible news, this poster was OleTob. OleTob had been diagnosed with a very advanced type of cancer, this morning I went back and read the post he made shortly before his death. They touched me now as they did then, OleTob and I didn't always see eye to eye on things. I think that was very clear, however about 3-4 months before he was diagnosed with cancer he and I sort of came to peace with each other, I remember the 05 football season every week he and I would shoot pm's back and forth trying to figure out that crazy VHSL point system. He showed me how to calculate points the night of the games. The man was a GC fan true and true, but more so than that there is no doubt in my mind that he was a great person. I never had the opportunity to meet OleTob, I wish I had, the one time we were supposed to meet I had pretty much just forgotten about it, it was the 04 GC/PV game. My senior year and we finally beat GC, I just got lost in the moment, looking back I wish I had taken the time to try to find this man and meet him in person. With everything going on not only on this board but in the world stop for a second go back and look at OleTob's final few posts, he like any of us would've been was scared but knew he was going somewhere far greater than we can imagine.

I couldn't bring myself to go back and read that stuff. Right after he died I went back and just saw how quickly the bad news came, to the time his battle ended. It's so sad. I'm glad that he went quickly though and didn't have to go through prolonged suffering. I still feel bad for his pal Quincy and his wife. It'll be a rough time for them. I'll be thinking of his family in friends the next few weeks.

Life can hit you with stuff quick and no one is garenteed tomarrow [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] Old Tob is gone from this world but a piece of him remains in all of us that knew him (even if only on this board)and are changed becouse of that It is my hope that when my time comes I can face it as well as Tob did and that I am rememberd as well by those left behind

That was definitely one of the downsides to the time frame when my daughter was born. My wife was placed in the hospital on Friday, and I ran into Quincy in the lobby of the hospital the morning Toby died. I could tell something was wrong when I ran into Quincy, but I wasn't expecting it to be Tob so soon.

He will always be greatly missed on here, and around GC athletics.
